Distributed Denial of Service

The Department of Immigration and Citizenship announced that it is experiencing a Distributed Denial of Service.

When we first read this we thought, finally, they are admiting that their service could be improved.

However, we then spoke with out computing friends and were told that a Distributed Denial of Service is an attempt to make a computer resource unavailable to its intended users.

So, instead of some stability in the migration program and faster processing times, all this announcement means is that you may be experiencing difficulties accessing the Department's website!
