If you are the spouse, de facto partner or fiancé of an Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident or eligible New Zealand citizen, you may be eligible for a Partner Visa.
In most cases, Partner Visas involve a two-stage assessment process to attain permanent residence.
If you meet the relevant criteria at the first stage of the assessment, you will initially be granted a temporary visa. Approximately two years after your initial application date, the second-stage assessment will be made. If you are successful at the second stage, you will be granted a permanent visa.
If you have been in a long-term relationship with your Australian partner, you may be granted a permanent visa at the first stage of the assessment.
All Partner Visa applicants must have a sponsor. The sponsor is usually the Australian partner. There are some sponsorship limitations. We can advise if any limitations will apply in your case.
